A starter note about keeping curiosity specific.

“I want to understand this” is a beginning. A more useful next sentence might be: “Which part can I explain, and where does my explanation stop?”

A question gives the next visit somewhere to begin.

Questions to try

  • What am I assuming here?
  • What would a concrete example look like?
  • When might this idea stop being useful?
  • What would change my mind?

Choose one. Write down a provisional answer, then leave room for a better one.

Give the question a home

If it keeps returning, give it its own note. Add a link when a reading response or another thought brings something new.

An unanswered question can still be worth sharing, as long as its uncertainty stays visible. That is one way to practice learning with the door open.
